What shows up on a truck when a milvan gets delivered

Picture the same tilt-bed truck we run to a driveway in Woodlawn, but the box sliding off the back carries Army markings instead of a shipping line's paint scheme. That's a milvan on the ground: a standard-dimension steel container, corner castings, corrugated Cor-Ten skin, plywood floor, all of it built to the same ISO rules as the box we deliver, just owned by the military instead of a commercial fleet.

The rule behind that picture is straightforward. A milvan was never a different container design, it's a container built exactly like any other, then bought and marked by the Department of Defense for its own supply chain. Once its military career ends and a unit gets released as surplus, physically it's the same steel as anything else that's spent years in service.

The rule that matters more than the name

Ownership history isn't a grade. A container's condition comes down to the walk-around, not who used to own it: soft spots in the floor, how the doors swing, whether the gasket is still soft, whether the roof has ponding dents. That's true whether the box crossed the ocean for a shipping line or a military depot.

Containers Delivered doesn't run a milvan-specific pipeline. What we stock is our own graded used and one-trip inventory, inspected the same way regardless of who built or last owned it, and sold as cargo-worthy or one-trip, not as documented military surplus.
