A 20 or 40 ft ISO container, bought or rented, delivered and set level with the lockbox already welded on. Yadkinville is about 50 road miles from the yard, inside the free zone.
Yadkinville is the Yadkin County seat, about 50 road miles from our Woodlawn yard. The run is I-77 south to Dobson and then straight down US-601, which keeps the whole trip inside our 75 road mile free delivery and leveling zone.
It is a town of about 3,000 people, 2,995 at the 2020 census, sitting in the middle of working Piedmont farm country. Whatever the parcel is, give us the address and we will confirm the radius before we quote it.
Inside the free zone, delivery and leveling are already in the container price. No mileage line, no fuel surcharge, no lockbox add-on.
Yadkin County is the heart of the Yadkin Valley, and the town leans into it: Yadkinville is known locally for its Harvest Festival and its Grape Festival, which honor the vineyards around it. That is a real economic shift layered on top of ordinary Piedmont farm ground, and both halves generate storage problems.
A vineyard or a small winery has the same core need a farm does, with a few extra wrinkles. Case goods, glass, barrels, harvest equipment, festival tents and tables, and seasonal labor gear all have to live somewhere dry and locked, and they all peak at different times of the year.
The other half of the county is straightforward agriculture and small business, and the containers we deliver there do the ordinary jobs: equipment out of the weather, inventory off the shop floor, materials staged near a job.
A 20-ft gives you roughly 160 square feet, which is the right call for tools, parts, cases, and seasonal equipment. A 40-ft is roughly 320 and is what you take when you need to walk into it and around what is stored, or when the items themselves are long.
Every unit is used cargo-worthy or one-trip, wind and watertight, with the doors working and the lockbox welded on before it leaves. Buying or renting, the lockbox is on it.
We also build modifications in our own shop in Woodlawn. Vents, shelving, a man door, windows, roll-up doors and insulation all get cut, welded, wired and finished before the container ships. On anything with power, we rough in the electrical and a licensed electrician does the final hookup and inspection.
If you want to see how the sizes compare on the ground, our 20 ft versus 40 ft guide covers both the storage footprint and the delivery footprint.
This is a tilt-bed delivery. The trailer backs in, tilts, and eases forward while the container slides off, so it needs a straight approach rather than a tight turn at the end. Sixty to a hundred feet of clear run is the usual ask.
The rest of what matters:
We set it level and confirm the doors swing true before pulling out. The delivery preparation guide is the full checklist.
On permits, North Carolina works differently from Virginia and the safe assumption is that a permit may be required until the county tells you otherwise. Our North Carolina permit guide explains why, and who to call in the county.
Used cargo-worthy 20-ft containers start around $3,200 delivered inside our free zone and 40-ft units start around $4,900. Rentals run from $165 a month for a 20-ft and $235 a month for a 40-ft, month to month, no contract.
Yadkinville is inside the free zone, so those delivered figures apply here. Grade and size move the number; the drive does not.
If the need is seasonal, which it often is around harvest, renting first is frequently the honest answer. Our guide to how long people actually rent covers what the real usage patterns look like.
