Insulation doesn't do anything for airflow, and airflow is what actually keeps stored goods dry.

The opposite mistake shows up just as often: insulating a workshop or office build and stopping there, without adding ventilation. That one is worse, because it doesn't just waste money, it hides a moisture problem instead of fixing it.

The correct approach: match the build to the use

Start with what the box is for, not with the container itself. If it's dry storage, plain steel with a few well-placed vents is the right, complete answer.
